Fallou ONG and
International Cooperation of L' Hospitalet joints for the fair trade in the markets of Christmas
International Cooperation of L'Hospitalet and the ONG Fallou they push for this Christmas the "Trade" campaign "fair, solidary trade" to promote the principles of the fair trade. With this goal, the volunteers of Fallou will gather themselves every Friday in December in the markets of L'Hospitalet selling articles of craftsmanship of the association of women of the Dakar Ak-Benn, that they manufacture and they sell articles of craftsmanship for its development.
Fallou, an ONG devoted to the cooperation by the autonomous development of the zones more deprived from Senegal, collaborates actively with these women setting forth and selling its products here and helping them like this in its development.
In order to fulfill its goal, the volunteers of Fallou will open the doors to the exotic one every Friday in December in five different markets:
2 December: Municipal Market of Collblanc.
9 December: Home Market Saws.
16 December: Municipal Market of the Center.
23 December: Market of Santa Eulàlia.
30 December: Municipal Market of Belvitge.
In Fallou they are very conscious of the ONGs not being the solution to the severe problems of the humanity, because of that, with its actions and being of endowing the local population with autonomy and that, slowly keep on emancipating like this. I "trade exactly, solidary trade" is a great example of this philosophy.
This initiative is an opportunity of gold for all those that want to bring its granite of sand to create a world more exactly in a moment so much distinguished how it is the Christmas period and, in passing, to be able to acquire different and solidary gifts.
Who is a Fallou ONGD?
The Association of Cooperation Fallou ONGD is a young and modest entity constituted in Barcelona and devoted to the Active and Participative Cooperation for the Autonomous Development of a rural community in Senegal. Fallou organizes two expeditions every year to bring resources, knowledge and to make the follow-up of different Initiatives and especially to spread its project of Universal Health to the Rural Community of Dialakoto.
Fair Trade
In many of the countries of the South the income of millions of families depends on the export of raw materials (cotton, coffee, cocoa, tea ...). But prices are set by multinationals that direct and control world trade. The criterion that governs is to obtain maximum economic benefit in the short term. The increasing marginalization of peasant families and small producers, labor exploitation, depletion of natural resources, pollution and loss of biological diversity are some of the consequences of this operation.
Fair Trade is a movement that proposes a different, fair trade relationship for all parties that come into play when an exchange takes place. It takes into account ethical and environmental values, against the exclusively economic criteria of traditional trade, and allows the countries of the South to reach their social and economic development.
PRINCIPLES OF FAIR TRADE
1. Creating opportunities for economically disadvantaged producers.
2. Worthy pay for work.
3. Transparency in trade relations and accountability.
4. Capacity building for producer independence.
5. Eradication of child exploitation.
6. Social benefits for producing communities.
7. Regarding the environment.
8. Gender equity: value is given and women's work is rewarded.
The Fair Trade movement seeks to correct existing inequalities in international trade relations and to promote more respectful consumer choices based on the participation of people and communities in empowerment, transparency, gender issues and ecological sustainability.
